Interim Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation
Dr. Hersch provides strategic planning and active management of the University’s research development program to support and build Mason’s research and scholarship capacity, with emphasis on the development of multidisciplinary research and scholarship and supporting the University Research Institutes and Transdisciplinary Centers.

Sheila is responsible for managing the Limited Submission Opportunity process and other activities in Research Development.
Heather Arold, M.Ed
Grant Writer/Proposal Specialist
Heather provides technical grant writing and proposal management support for large, complex, and/or interdisciplinary grant proposals in close collaboration with researchers/principal investigators across the university.
Honey supports Research Development operations and oversees all administrative duties.
Operations and Events Specialist
Luke supports and assists in managing events for the Research Development Group and connected Research Institutes and Transdisciplinary Centers; additionally, Luke helps support Research Development operations.
